An Invitation To Pause: The Season Of Letting Go

Autumn is here.

In Paris, the trees have been shifting colours, subtle, slow, and steady, one day at a time. Some mornings have been cloudy and grey, others filled with uplifting sunshine that makes us smile right away.

During our mindful walks, we can always feel that moment, when the attention shifts, from outside, to inside. In those moments, something softens. We remember that it doesn't matter how intense life gets, that there are always pockets of well-being accessible to us. It is in these moments where we can pause, breathe, observe, and invite curiosity along the way.

On every mindful walk I lead, we always start the same way:

  1. Posture - because how we stand influences how we breathe.

  2. Breath - because how we breathe influences how we feel.

  3. Movement - because when body and mind align, is easier to focus on the next step.

Autumn invites us to pause, to go inwards, to reflect. To evaluate where our attention is, and where would we like it to be.

  • In our daily life.

  • In collaborations.

  • In conversations.

  • In our thinking patterns.

A question that I have been asking is: What do you truly want, beyond the expectations that everyone else has on you?

Sometimes it might feel easier to go in autopilot, than to stop, and re-evaluate. However, this season, with shorter days, calmer energy, and later sunrises, invites us to reflect. It opens up new possibilities to do things differently, one morning at a time.

Nature, creates that space, away from distractions, to think about this. It brings us back to the present moment, and reminds us of that feeling of belonging. When we make decisions from that place, life feels different.

The city moves fast, yet it always offers these moments of connection, to ourselves, to nature, and to each other.

During the month of November, I’ll be sharing “Postcards For Life Transitions”, which will contain:

  • Short reflections from my mindful walks in Paris

  • Moments of presence

  • Invitations for you to reflect on your own transitions

Today, I invite you to take a small pause, to think about the month that is approaching. Which is one micro habit that you would like to explore during November?

And before we close October, I invite you to celebrate each step that you have taken this month. I believe that every tiny step forward deserves a celebration!

Are you ready?

PS. If you are in the middle of a life transition, and are eager to protect your mental well-being, I invite you to connect. I lead regular virtual and in person workshops (for small groups) focused specifically on this topic.
