Postcards For Life Transitions

Good morning,

I am writing you this postcard as I stand on the bridge near the Musée d’Orsay in Paris. It is early morning, around 6:30 am. The sky is still dark, the city is waking up, and the reflection on the river makes me feel at home.

As I anchor my attention with presence and awareness, I think of this new project for the month of November: Postcards For Life Transitions.

I know many people in my community who are currently navigating some type of life transition: a career shift, adapting to a new country, a job transition, an unexpected health challenge, or navigating a life stage transition. These moments can bring many emotions, and can sometimes feel overwhelming.

I know first hand, that during transitions, sometimes it feels that “life as you know it, is changing.” Sometimes the change is quick, sometimes is slow.

Today’s reflection is a reminder that you don’t have to begin this transitions from “zero”. You already carry the wisdom, experiences, and skills from every transition you have gone through before in your life.

This moment by the river is a reminder:

That you can always take a small pause to step out of the circle of stress, before taking the next step.

That no matter how full your day becomes or,

How many decisions, steps, conversations, or emotions await,

There is always a pocket of calm and presence available for you today.

Even a few seconds of stillness can transform how you feel today.

So, I invite you to pause and reflect:

“Where can you anchor your attention today as you move through your day?”
